Welcome to Translate with Biscuit ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our mobile application, Translate with Biscuit (the "Service").

When you use Translate with Biscuit, we may collect the following types of information:

Account Information: When you sign in using Apple or Google, we collect your email address and name (if provided by the authentication provider) to create and manage your account.
Usage Data (Product Interaction): We collect data about how you interact with the app, such as your flashcard study progress, quizzes taken, and language preferences. This helps us personalize your learning experience and track your progress.
Device Information: We may collect limited device information to ensure the app functions correctly, such as your operating system version.
User Content: The words and phrases you translate and save as flashcards are stored to provide the core functionality of the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information exclusively to provide and improve the Service:

To create and maintain your account.
To sync your flashcards, translations, and learning progress across your devices.
To provide personalized quizzes and learning recommendations.
To generate translations and language enrichment using third-party AI services (see Section 5).
To communicate important service-related updates.
To process subscriptions via the Apple App Store.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is securely stored using Supabase, a cloud database platform. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to secure your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We do not track you across other apps or websites. Our app does not use any tracking technologies or participate in advertising networks.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

Supabase: For backend database, authentication, and data synchronization.
Apple (App Store & Sign in with Apple): To process in-app purchases, subscriptions, and account authentication.
Google (Google Sign-In): For account authentication when you choose to sign in with Google.
OpenAI: To power AI-generated translations and language enrichment features. Text you submit for translation is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. We do not send any personally identifiable information (such as your name or email) to OpenAI — only the text you choose to translate.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. If you delete your account, all associated data (including flashcards, quiz history, streaks, and profile information) is permanently removed from our servers.

7. Children's Privacy

Translate with Biscuit is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information.

Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time directly within the app by going to the Profile section and tapping "Delete Account."
Data Export: You may contact us to request a copy of the data associated with your account.
Correction: You may update your profile information (such as your name and primary language) at any time within the app.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app and updating the "Last Updated" date.
